Description

The LB5602 is a high-performance dual-channel bench-top test station designed for fast and accurate insertion and return loss testing of fiber optic patch cords, including duplex cables and those with different connectors on each side (e.g., FC-LC, SC-LC). It allows a single reference (REF) setting for both insertion and return loss, eliminating the need to change standard patch cords or interchange test port connectors — especially when switching between 2.5 mm and 1.25 mm interfaces.

This mandrel-free test station supports APC and PC (UPC) terminations with minimum lengths of 1.7 m and 2.2 m, respectively. It integrates return loss, insertion loss, and a built-in laser source module in one system, providing accurate measurements with exceptional stability (±0.005 dB over one hour at 25°C). The LB5602 also features a VFL (Visual Fault Locator) module for fiber continuity and fault detection, operating at 650 nm.
