Description
Fibramérica’s Shape Drop Cable is a high-resistance fiber optic cable specially developed for outdoor FTTH deployments. Its distinctive flat design with rounded edges provides easy handling during field installations and ensures a smooth, efficient deployment experience in both aerial and façade applications.
Built with 1, 2, or 4 G.657A fibers, it offers excellent optical performance, with an attenuation of just 0.4 dB/km at 1310 nm and 0.3 dB/km at 1550 nm. The outer sheath is made from tough LSZH material, resistant to flame and deformation, and available in black, grey, or white depending on project requirements.
The cable integrates a metallic messenger wire (available in 1.2 mm, 1.0 mm or 0.8 mm diameter options) and two metallic or FRP strength members, providing outstanding resistance against tension, impact, and crushing. It is capable of withstanding short-term tensile strengths of up to 800 N and crush forces of up to 2 200 N/100 mm, making it suitable for complex and high-demand installations.
Its minimum bending radius, just 20× the cable diameter without tension, and 40× under maximum tension, adds flexibility for maneuvering through tight or constrained spaces, while maintaining optical integrity.
The FAB-SHAPE-DROP is engineered to operate in a wide range of environmental conditions, from –40 °C to +70 °C. Whether for residential, commercial, or multi-dwelling units, this drop cable guarantees reliable, high-speed optical connectivity.
