The Fibramérica FAB-CPL-01 Connector Protective Lock is a reusable mechanical housing designed to reinforce field-installable SC connectors assembled on 2 × 3 mm FTTH flat drop cable. Installed around the connector body and cable transition, it provides additional mechanical protection against pulling forces, bending stress, accidental unlocking, and handling during installation and maintenance.
Its innovative two-piece snap-fit construction allows quick installation without adhesives or special tools. The housing can be reopened whenever inspection, connector replacement, or field retermination is required, making it an efficient solution for installers and maintenance teams while preserving the connector’s optical interface.
Unlike permanent protection methods, the FAB-CPL-01 provides a reusable solution that simplifies field operations and helps standardize connector installations across FTTH deployments. Because the protective housing remains external to the ferrule and optical mating surface, it does not interfere with optical performance when properly assembled.
